Nicki Minaj admitted to having a “thing” for New York female newcomer Young M.A. while speaking with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club this week.

Co-host Charlamagne tha God told her he believes she ushered in a new era for female emcees and asked her what she thought about it. Nicki replied by shouting out who is arguably the hottest rapper coming out of New York right now. “I got a thing for Young M.A. for sure,” she said. “I definitely have a thing for her. There’s something about her man [that] I really love." Minaj also said she’s a fan of Dej Loaf and laughed when Charlamagne told her Young M.A. liked her twerking video she recently released. The shout out comes around the 3:00 mark.

Elsewhere in the interview, she paid homage to Lauryn Hill and briefly touched on meeting her for the first time at Tidal’s 10/15 charity concert in New York City this weekend. “Shout out to Ms. Lauryn Hill for being epic. And I told her, ‘I want you to know this. You changed everyone's life!’ Everyone who I know feels like their life was a little changed by Lauryn’s ‘Miseducation.’ Shout out to her for being everything I hoped she would be when I met her,” said Nicki.
