A black American tourist named Bakari Henderson, 22, was beaten to death by a mob on the Greek island of Zakynthos for speaking to a Serbian waitress, Daily Mail reports.
Video shows Henderson running from the mob when he’s body-slammed by one of the attackers. Men then punch and kick him for 20 seconds until a woman tells them to stop.
A security guard was charged with homicide in the beating. He says the attack happened after Serbians got upset that Henderson and his friends were talking to a Serbian waitress.
The security guard also said the waitress was asked, “What are you doing hanging out with the Americans” before the men started beating Henderson.
Two men were charged with homicide, including the security guard, a 32-year-old Briton of Serbian origin, and a Greek barman, 34.
Six other Serbians are being questioned into he attack.
Police are investigating whether race was a motivation in the attack.
Henderson was from Austin, Texas. He’d just graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson in May with a degree in Business Finance and Entrepreneurship.
His family said he’d gone to Greece with friends for a photoshoot to launch his fashion line
