A daycare center has been branded racist after a livestream video appeared to show white children being served food before black children.

Parents of children in the daycare in Roswell, Georgia had the ability to tap into a livestream to see how their children were doing throughout the day.

One parent, who checked in to see their two-year-old boy this week, was outraged to see white children being fed lunch, while black kids were forced to wait.

He took a screenshot of the scene at the Kids 'R' Kids location.

'They were skipping all of the black kids it seemed like,' father Adryan McCauley told CBS46.

'All the white kids got their lunch, and all the black kids had to wait. From the videos and pictures that we saw today, we are just completely disturbed.'

The boy's mother went to the daycare to confront the staff, only to receive a halfhearted explanation.

'Mom went and picked him up immediately, and the director said 'I'm not really sure because I'm not in the classroom, maybe it's a dietary thing,'' McCauley said.

The family decided to share the screenshot online to draw attention to the alleged racism at the daycare.

An Instagram post from 'marquis_dagreat' with the screenshot reads:

'This is truly unbelievable. You better know this won’t be the last time you hear from me on this.

'Why does every white kid have their food? Not one black child has food in front of them! Thank God for cameras in classrooms because there is no way to hide this racism!

'In the year 2021, this is truly unbelievable. As blacks, we always strive to send our kids to schools in Suburban area’s [sic], but I’m telling you first hand that is not always best.

'This is not a black or white issue this is simply wrong! @kidsrkidscorporate I’ll be waiting for feedback from your cooperate [sic] office on this.'

The corporate office for Kids 'R' Kids did respond with a statement from president and CEO David Vinson on Thursday afternoon, cutting ties with the franchise location.

'The interactions captured on video by one of our families, yesterday, is disturbing and not in accordance with the inclusive culture that we promote at Kids ‘R’ Kids amongst our families, their children, or our staff,' the statement read.

'After further review and much consideration of the photo/video in question, our company has decided to terminate that franchisee’s Kids ‘R’ Kids contract and branding, effective immediately, leaving them to operate independently.

'We apologize to the family, the community, and all of those impacted by this situation and will use this as a learning tool to remind our Kids ‘R’ Kids staff on the importance of diversity and inclusivity.

'As a result of this decision, our corporate office will assist any displaced families with locating preschool options in their respective area.'

Vinson also spoke with CBS46 about ditching the Roswell location, saying 'Perception is, unfortunately, reality, and with the cancel culture, unfortunately, it's the perception.'

From the Kids 'R' Kids website, a link to the Historic Roswell location is no longer active, as is their link to the location's Facebook page.

A link to another Roswell location in Sandy Plains, however, is active, which includes comment from that location's owner, Sue Boyle.

'It came to our attention that some very ugly photos and videos were released to social media that were taken from another Kids 'R' Kids location,' says the statement.

'We want to be very clear that this was not our school, but another location in Roswell – Historic Roswell.

'We would never single out anyone according to their race and we treat everyone equally, with love and respect. We are honored that you give us the privilege of caring for your precious children and we strive every day to give them the love, kindness and dignity that all children deserve.'

Dee Gillespie, director, and owner of the former Historic Roswell location, said 'We know the act was random, and the photo doesn't show the entire room; we believe if the parents viewed the videos they would understand.

'I wish they could see the compassion we have.'

It's not clear if Gillespie will continue to operate the daycare independently.
