The tariffs that tRump put into place are not only having the opposite effect from what he predicted, but they are disproportionately hurting the people who put him in office. He said, "trade wars are easy to win", suggesting that the U.S. economy would benefit from his action. But, now we learn that the retaliatory tariffs China responded with will directly affect counties won by tRump in the 2016 election through the loss of jobs as demand for products produced in those counties falls because they now cost more. Sixty-five percent of the expected job losses resulting from these tariffs are expected to occur in counties that voted for him.
