Terrence Howard 'Cries On The Stand' And Claims His Ex-Wife 'Threatened To Tell People He Had An STD' As Divorce Gets Ugly

Terrence Howard Cries On The Stand And Claims His Ex Wife Threatened To Tell People He Had An STD As Divorce Gets Ugly
Date Posted: Saturday, August 15th, 2015
Terrence Howard reportedly broke down in the courtroom today.

According to a Friday report from TMZ, the 46-year-old actor cried on the stand while testifying that he signed a 2012 divorce settlement agreement while under extreme duress.

According to the gossip site, Howard made reference to a conversation he had taped while on the phone with his ex as she threatened to tell people he had a sexually transmitted disease (STD).

He went on to testify that he felt like he was pressured to sign the settlement agreement, which resulted in him giving her an unusually large sum of money.

The Iron Man star reportedly fought back tears while taking deep breaths and even blew his nose while testifying.

Through litigation, he is trying to undo the original settlement giving her $5,800 in spousal support every month, claiming he signed the document under duress.

This comes just days after reports that Ghent is demanding a cut of his Empire salary and claims she had used a###tape to extort money out of him.

Howard also testified that his relationship with Ghent was so bad, she kicked food all over him in a jealous rage over a make-out scene with Jennifer Hudson.

They were in South Africa when he was filming Winnie Mandela and they got into a huge fight because she became jealous about the scene.

Howard said things got so bad he faked a suicide attempt by telling her he swallowed a bottle of pills but later admitted he did not actually do it, according to TMZ.

The star, who has been a huge success playing music mogul Lucius Lyon, divorced Michelle in 2012.

But issues regarding their split and settlement still rumble on.

Michelle has said she wants Terrence to pay nearly $500,000 in back spousal support he owes her.

She apparently discovered that he is earning $125,000 an episode after filing a subpoena to obtain the actor's series contract. Michelle is also asking for attorney’s fees.

However Terrence says he only earns about $5,878 a month and his first wife Lori McMasters gets most of his earnings.

However, court documents previously obtained by TMZ claimed Terrence told Michelle last year that he fabricated his debt to Lori and told Michelle 'I am not gonna give you one cent'.

The estranged former couple’s representatives were in court on Tuesday as Terrence tried to overturn the agreement they had originally made over finances.

His attorney told the court he only agreed to the original settlement because he was afraid Michelle would leak private details about his###life.

The first witness, the actor's sister-in-law Yvonne Howard, testified that a###tape of Terrence was allegedly used to extort him.

It allegedly showed him having###with a woman as another woman filmed them, according to TMZ.

Howard's attorney Brian Kramer said he would play an audio recording of Michelle making the threat and present other evidence that would show she engaged in 'heavy-handed acts of extortion and blackmail.'

Meanwhile, lawyers for Michelle said she denied the allegations during a deposition.

Last month she filed another lawsuit against her ex alleging he beat her within a inch of her life.

According to TMZ, the incident is alleged to have happened in 2013 while they were renting a house in Costa Rica.

She claimed he grabbed her by the neck and threatened to kill her. But Terrence says it was a situation of mutual combat, and claims he was pepper sprayed during the fight.

The actor was with Michelle for three years from 2010 – but they filed for divorce after one year.

Terrence then married his current wife Miranda Howard in 2013. The couple had a son, Qirin, in June.

He was married to first wife Lori from 1989 to 2003 and again from 2005 to 2007.

Asked by TMZ Friday evening how his Empire character Lucious Lyon would handle the trial, Howard paused for a moment and then said: 'I think the courtroom would have been blown up.'
