Did Colbert's Trump Joke Go Too Far? The Short Answer Is No!

Did Colbert s Trump Joke Go Too Far The Short Answer Is No
Date Posted: Monday, May 8th, 2017

The popular late night show host is catching fire for some jokes many consider
vulgar and homophobic, but lets take a look at the actually jokes.

"Sir, you attract more skinheads than free Rogaine. You have more people marching
against you than cancer. You talk like a sign language gorilla that got hit in the
head. In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin's c--k
holster."

Is this vulgar? The short answer is yes, but Colbert's jokes never attack the gay
culture or any same-sex people in any way. It is clearly just a crude joke that
wasn't enjoyed by conservatives. This explains why Fox News and other conservatives
push the #fireColbert movement more than any ProGay rights organizations.

Still, Colbert apologized to those who were insulted, but not President Trump.

"Now, folks if you saw my monologue on Monday, you know that I was a little upset
with Donald Trump for insulting a friend of mine. So, at the end of that monologue,
I had a few choice insults for the president in return. I don't regret that. I
believe he can take care of himself. I have jokes, he has the launch codes. So, it's
a fair fight.

Stephen for years had been supportive of gay culture.

Colbert just last year defended Campbells Soups same-sex commercial. He also
supported Jason Collins the first openly gay NBA player.

Is Stephen Colbert a homophobe? The long answer is no. This is clearly just a
conservative attack on a anti-Trump late night television show.
