Watch Joe Scarborough Parody Con Man Don In Song
Date Posted: Thursday, September 29th, 2016

Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough released a new cowboy tune called "Amnesty Don" about Donald Trump's waffling position on immigration.

Trump said he and the Mexican president "didn't discuss" who would pay for the border wall that's become a hallmark of his campaign

Scarborough notably moonlights as a guitarist and singer with his group, Morning Joe Music, which wrote and recorded "Amnesty Don." The song tells the saga of a "soft and flaccid man/ with fear in his eyes and a burnt orange tan" who promises to build great walls, deport Mexicans and ban Muslims — until the primaries end and he has to appeal to a wider constituency. Scarborough and co. make the most of Trump's supposed "softening" on immigration, using it as an occasion to pack "Amnesty Don" with cheeky lines like, "He's softening, is there a pill for that?"

Scarborough released "Amnesty Don" through his own Facebook page and his network, MSNBC, has yet to comment on the song (neither has Trump). Co-host Mika Brzezinski mentioned the song on Morning Joe Thursday, but Scarborough only repeated the tale accompanying the track on Facebook, that he and Willie Geist saw a band performing "Amnesty Don" during a quick trip to Amsterdam.

"Amnesty Don" is the latest shot in Trump and Scarborough's ongoing feud, which began not long after Harry Shearer released audio of off-camera dialogue that seemed to suggest a cozy relationship between Trump, Scarborough and Brzezinski. At one point Trump said, "Just make us all look good." And Scarborough responded, "Exactly."

Not long after, however, Scarborough slammed Trump for not immediately disavowing the support of former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard, David Duke. The former Republican congressmen has since continued to go after Trump, writing recently a "bloody line has been crossed" in reference to the Republican nominee's suggestion that Second Amendment supporters would be able to stop Hillary Clinton. Of course, Trump has characteristically kept his attacks up on Twitter, slamming Morning Joe and calling Scarborough and Brzezinski "Two clowns!"
