All In The Family Mike Bibby Jr Follows In Dad s Footsteps By Landing Division 1 Scholarship

Sacramento Kings fans have some fond memories of Chris Webber getting alley-oops and some sweet dishes from Mike Bibby. He had his best years with the Kings averaging 17.6 points, 5.4 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game over seven seasons. He also shot 37.7 percent from beyond the arc and 43.9 percent from the floor overall.

Bibby played at Arizona and won an NCAA Championship with the Wildcats in 1997 on his way to being named the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and was named to the All-Final Four team. He was then named the Pac-10 Player of the Year in his sophomore campaign and that’s when he declared for the NBA Draft and was taken second overall by the Vancouver Grizzlies.

It looks like his son will be trying to take up the mantle now as he committed to South Florida. The younger Bibby is actually a little taller than his dad at 6’3″ and you can see from the highlights that the kid can handle the ball and has a pretty decent shot even if it does look a little out of whack.

Bibby Jr. had two knee surgeries on the same knee, but is now playing without a brace and that should bode well for the Bulls next season. Bibby Jr. is ranked as the No. 6 player in Arizona according to 247Sports.
