Steve Bannon s Involvement In A Sex Robot Conference Is The Reason He Is Losing Speaking Engagements

Former White House adviser Steve Bannon was supposed to headline a sex robot conference — and has lost multiple speaking gigs since it was announced.

The Montana Kaimin, a student newspaper at the University of Montana, reported Tuesday that the Athenian Parrhesia Free Speech Forum, a debate event Bannon was supposed to participate in, was canceled after a growing outcry from the UM community.

It was, as the Kaimin noted, the third of his appearances that has been canceled since news broke that he was to be a keynote speaker at the Fourth Annual Congress on Love and Sex with Robots.

The sex robot conference itself was canceled alongside the 15th International Conference on Advances in Computer Entertainment Technology, the Missoula Current reported.

Both conferences were organized by Adrian Cheok, the director of the Malaysia-based Imagineering Institute.

After the New York Times‘ Maggie Haberman tweeted about the now-canceled Congress on Love and Sex with Robots, others on Twitter shared her incredulity.

“I can’t believe I just googled ‘steve bannon sex robots,'” NBCThink reporter Megan Carpentier tweeted.

“One of the lesser known rules of William Strunk’s seminal work ‘The Elements of Style’ is that the name ‘Steve Bannon’ should never appear in the same paragraph as the phrase ‘sex robot,'” Ryan Mac, a BuzzFeed News reporter, tweeted alongside a screenshot of the Kaimin article about the cancellations.

GOP strategist Rick Wilson, meanwhile, joked that there’s now “an opening for a speaker at a robot sex conference in Montana since they iced out Steve Bannon, or as he’s known by his nom de bot, ‘RealDollFan69XXX.'”
