Last week, while promoting her book, We’re Going to Need More Wine, Gabrielle Union visited Sway in the Morning and talked about the importance of reciprocity in a sexual relationship, which she discusses in her book. She says that instead of women being “the vessel for someone else’s pleasure, this should be a symbiotic relationship.” Basically, if you’re offering fellatio, you should be able to ask for your partner (and even expect for them) to go down on you and do other things — including participating in anal foreplay. It was just a short aspect of the conversation, but it quickly created conversation online. Especially after a co-host on the show asked her, in the vein of reciprocity, if a guy goes back there for a woman, if a woman should be expected to do the same. By saying yes, and sharing her own story, people ran with the fact that Union was okay with the idea of doing anal foreplay for a man (though she never explicitly said she does it, nor did she say she does it for husband Dwyane Wade). When the same co-host said that men he knows allegedly don’t want that type of sexual play, Union scoffed at the idea.

“That’s what they say,” she said. “That’s what they’re saying. That’s not what’s happening.”

 

It was actually a really interesting but also funny conversation about equality in the relationship. It’s true that we need to do more than be the only ones worried about getting in positions and doing any and everything to please men while they do the bare minimum to please us.

 

But like I said, everyone’s attention stopped at the booty part:

I guest it’s all in her book too. Now his teammates and everyone else will see her differently. This should be secret between her and Dwayne.”
