Last week, we were made privy to the somewhat upsetting news—per a monologue delivered by Kanye West during his Saint Pablo tour—that Blue Ivy Carter (progeny of Jay Z and Beyoncé) and North West (daughter of Kim Kardashian West and West) have “never played together.” The reasons for this are likely numerous enough to fill an entire volume of books—and it is unlikely we will ever truly know them all (unless all four of the parents involved here write revealing, searingly honest memoirs someday)—but, today, Page Six offers a potential contributing factor: Beyoncé, they maintain, has never been a huge fan of Kardashian West.

A Page Six source claims that Jay Z’s current feud with West was largely instigated by “Beyonce’s dislike of Kim and that’s why Blue and North have never had a play date.” (The premise of this argument is somewhat flawed from the start, of course, since we all know many young children having play dates across the country likely have sets of parents who can’t stand each other. “No, Carole didn’t come in to pick Johnny up. She just waited in the car outside. Thank God.”)

Page Six’s “Kardashian source” goes on: “Beyoncé has never genuinely liked Kim. She’s mostly tolerated her because of their husbands’ friendship and [their] mutual friends, like Jennifer Lopez. She is always a little icy to Kim. The last time they hung out, the minute Beyoncé could leave the conversation, she did. They always have lots of awkward pauses [during conversation].”

Page Six does note, accurately, that Beyoncé and Jay Z did not attend Kim and Kanye’s wedding in 2014. (“[Beyoncé’s] behavior during the wedding proved she isn’t Kim’s biggest fan,” the report claims.) The two had seemingly indicated they might be attending, as their names were engraved in the marble wedding-dinner table, but were both no-shows. The outlet also claims that Beyoncé expressed “dismay” at Kanye’s participation on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Beyoncé’s rep told Page Six the allegations are “ridiculous, to say the least.”
