Cam’ron joins DJ Whoo Kid’s “The Whoolywood Shuffle” on Shade 45 and states that the beef between Jay Z and Lance “Un” Rivera was over Charli Baltimore – not over leaked music, as it’s long been rumored – implying that the 1999 stabbing was also because of the female singer.

It’s well-documented that Charli Baltimore had a romantic relationship with Notorious B.I.G. prior to Biggie’s death in 1997. Cam’ron tells DJ Whoo Kid, “Jay liked Charli at one time, and that [used to be] Big’s girl.” Rivera, a close affiliate of Biggie’s who is often credited with helping carve out his musical vision, wasn’t happy about Jay stepping out with his late friend and collaborator’s ex-girl. Cam’ron says, “They can say a song leaked or whatever, but it was over Charli Baltimore.”

Throughout the 28-minute interview, Killa Cam also touches on a myriad of other topics. He discusses how he lacked understanding of the business side of the industry when he was starting out, his interactions with Big L while growing up in Harlem, and how Ma$e taught Jim Jones how to rap. In addition, Cam delves into his first time meeting Biggie. He tells DJ Whoo Kid, “I went to Big’s house, and he had a broken leg, I believe, at the time. He had two bitches in his bed, and that was my audition. I rapped for Big in his bedroom with two bitches in the bed.”

Cam’ron explains that Biggie wanted to sign him to a record deal but passed shortly thereafter. However, Rivera kept Biggie’s word and eventually signed Cam’ron to Sony/Epic Records. In the clip, Cam also talks about his new single “Oh Yeah” featuring Juelz Santana, his dealings with Dame Dash on Roc-A-Fella, Russell Westbrook’s fashion sense and more.

Yet another interesting tidbit from the conversation is an anecdote about Kanye West and how Cam’ron remembers ‘Ye first rapping for him and Jay, as told on Kanye’s track, “30 Hours.” Killa Cam also states that Kanye originally made the “H to the Izzo” beat for him and was ready to lay down the verses, but then Cam heard the Jay Z version on the radio just “two weeks later.” Listen to the interview in its entirety above and let us know what you think by dropping a comment.
